"Hey captain, that thing looks awesome, oh wait. IT'S CHEWING ON THE SHIP! SHAKE IT OFF! SSHHHAAAKKEEEE IITTT OFFFFF!!!!!!"

Location

The beetle can be found in Mitrilion to the Northwest and Southwest of the main warp gate (the "middle of nowhere" enemy spawning points). They are in the middle of space before you hit the orbiting locations of the planets to the north and to the south.

Threat Level to players:
Below level 10: High. Unless you spent flux, you should not be able to visit Mitrilion at this point in the game. You will quickly die to all enemies in Mitrillion much less one of the more difficult ones like the beetle.

Level 10-20:
Moderate. Engage with caution and pay attention to your health. Avoid packs of beetles.

Level 20+
Low. With fully upgraded weapons, taking these out will not pose too much of a challenge.

Enemy Behavior

The beetle attacks the player by attaching itself to the hull of your ship. It will then drain your shields and/or health to replenish its own HP.

Movement: This beetle moves quickly when it speeds up, once it "sees" your ship.

Tips for Destroying

Keep your distance and use a long distance weapon to take out the beetle. Higher level players (30+) will have no issues just running through a spawning zone of these as they will have more than enough shield, HP, and armor to shrug off any beetles that attach themselves. Lower level player should avoid them as much as possible as they can quickly kill you. It can become frustrating trying to destroy them when they can quickly heal themselves by attaching themselves to you so keep your distance.
