|"You wont find another speedy enemy like this"|
Drak is a mini boss found in the empty space between the Withered Roots on the upper left side of Hozar. He is one of the fastest enemies in the game and has powerful and long Damage over Time (DoT) attacks. Drak favours hit-and-run tactics, letting the DoT damage the player while he is out of weapon's range. This makes Drak a threat to players who are unaware of him and difficult to kill when first encountered. Additionally, because moves so quickly, he can be a difficult enemy to track down. Use your radar look for the very fast red dot, and try to clear the area of other enemies to avoid confusion.
Drak's main weapon is the Drak Wave. This is a wide spray weapon that has a strong and very long DoT effect. After attacking with the Drak Wave, Drak will run away and drop corrosive mines. These mines do a fair amount of damage and have a long DoT effect which makes Drak difficult to chase. Both of these attacks heal Drak based off of the damage you take. This healing effect can make Drak an especially difficult enemy for a large groups.
Engage Drak with a long range weapon with aim assist like Razor or Acid Blaster. Particle Gun also works if at least lvl 5 on almost all Drak's (except Golden Drak). Once you have Drak's attention, it will circle you and attack with the Drak Wave. While Drak is circling, continue to use a long range weapon to attack.
Drak will then dive-bomb with a Drak wave attack. Use your hardened shield which will prevent most of the damage. Also, quickly switching to the Plasma Gun when he dive-bombs is very helpful. It will do a ton of damage and put a DoT on Drak.
After one or two attacks with the Drak Wave, he will run away. Don't chase it, just stay in the same spot. Drak will return and attack again with the Drak Wave. Repeat until Drak is dead. Once Drak is dead, his DoT stops.
One variant that makes killing Drak quicker and easier is to use a triad pet. Triad pets can drop from every triad in the Antor sector. This tactic works equally well no matter what level the triad spawner is. When Drak gets near, spawn it. As long as the surrounding area is mostly clear of other enemies, the two should circle each other indefinitely. Drak will not drop corrosive mines during this time, and he will only use the Drak wave if you get in his sights.
If you do use the Particle Gun make sure you use a slow ship (Tanker A1 works best because of its shield and health) to stay behind Drak. make sure to get him to fly in circles (pets will help alot with this). Another way is to use the Mine Launcher lvl.6 and surround yourself with mines as he will fly straight into them (and depending on which ship you equip it on you can one shot him). just make sure to keep other mobs from hitting them or you'll need to redeploy your mines
Drak can be good for farming steel for lower levels because of its high rate of dropping Gold Crates. To farm him, go to a clans instance (or PvP if you don't have a clan) that is empty. Then, go and kill Drak and pick up the artifact and crates. If the system is empty, refresh it and you can kill him again when you log on again. If it's not empty, ask the people who are in the system NICELY to leave. Don't pick a fight if they don't. For 10 kills on Drak, you will average 30,000 steel (Based on data from players who farm it.).
