The Renegade Inquisitor is a strange enemy. It only appears after completing the mission chain Unknown Threat. It uses Hell Fire to attack you, and looks exactly like a Prophecy ship. This doesn't need to be killed for the mission, and it is easy to escape from and not hard to kill unless you encounter an aura. You can't get encounters on this enemy, and it only appears once, so there is little to no information about health, shields, and other statistics.

Extra info : One with any kind of aura could easily outrun a Skeletor with level 6 engines.


The Renegade Inquisitor uses a Hell Fire, which is the specialty weapon on the Prophecy. The inquisitor doesn't have the weapon at level 6, and you can tell by how slow it shoots the projectiles.

Usually the best way to kill these is to find a way to survive their initial assault with Hell Fire long enough to do some damage. Damaging them considerably usually scares them off, i.e. they break active pursuit and circle back.

Use a long ranged weapon like Blaster, Particle gun, or Acid blaster to kill them.

For this, either a tanky setup of 500+ armor / 15k+ shields and proximity to a safe zone with NPC is recommend.

Hell Fire although not very damaging at first, can become fatal if you allow it to be pointed at you for some time because of its strong DoT. So, proximity to a safe zone is recommended to remove the DoT. Friendly NPCs can keep them engaged if more than one Inquisitor appears(Such as 3 in Mitrilion while completing the mission chain) while your ship is repaired.

Healing weapons such as Plankton Siphon Gland or Death Cloud remove the above requirements because health can be stolen at a rate faster than the DoT of Hell Fire.

Special note : Inquisitors are really fast, almost as fast as most players. However, one with any kind of aura is faster than a Skeletor(Engine level 6 verified), Transmitter(Engine level 6 verified) Police P1 Pursuit(Engine level 6 verified) and X-34 Carrier (Unverified, since Black Moths got the player earlier than the attacking Inquisitor). Verification of the above data was done by the rather questionable method of entering a Friendly instance of Mitrilion with a lot of innocent low level players with no idea about the rare enemy, which was mistaken for an Aureus by those who just heard Aureus ships were golden.


Renegade Inquisitors can be found in Hozar, Mitrilion and Vibrilian. Inquisitors are usually roaming around or protecting the Hozar Pirate Bay, but they are extremely rare.


Renegade Inquisitors are spawning on special occasions, which are listed below.

  • In Hozar - There is a chance one spawns when you do Part 13 of Unknown Threat mission.
  • In Mitrilion - Spawns at the innermost withered roots of the right main system (the system with armoji and orgasin) In groups of three. May also spawn in the flower spawner just right to Warp Gate.
  • In Vibrilian - Spawning requirements remain unknown (please write them here if you figured it out).
